I use to always feel like God blessed everyone around me expect for me. I always felt like I celebrated God doing things around everyone else but no one ever celebrated me.
I felt like every job or opportunity I went after never worked out.
Many times I questioned God and asked him ,”What about me ?!”
Am I not your daughter too ? I live for you!!
This mindset went on for a couple of years in college but it wasn’t until last year that I was able to overcome being a permanent resident of comparisonville. Don’t get me wrong I still have my moments but it’s not as bad as before.
I had to engrain in my mind that God loves all of us equally, has no favorites , is a Good father and has great things planned for his children.
“For God shows no favoritism “ Romans 2:11 NLT
“For I know the plans I have for you.” Declares the lord. “Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. “ Jeremiah 29:11
“Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the father of lights , With whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” James 1:17
He loved me as much as he loves Elena who just got a promotion while I was still looking for a job.
He loves me just as much as he loves Edward who just got accepted into grad school while I still haven’t been accepted anywhere.
I had to learn that God had a specific plan for my life that wasn’t going to look like anyone else’s, therefore I did not need to feel jealous over what was going on in other people’s lives.
I also learned that some of the things I wanted so badly were not part of God plans for my life (certain jobs, relationships etc).
I also just learned to genuinely celebrate others the way I would also want to be celebrated one day. I’m genuinely happy when I see people achieving goals and living in their purpose. I find it so inspiring !
I wrote all of this to say that God’s timing is perfect for you life therefore no need to compare yourself to others. Just because somethings aren’t happening currently doesn’t mean that they will never happen. God may just be putting you through a process.
Your process will be different than the next persons process because God has something diffferent for everyone.
So just because “Stephanie “ got into the first job she applied to after graduating and you got into the 20th job you applied to doesn’t mean that God forgot about you or that your life sucks it just means that God had a different plan for you and was trying to develop something in you. Maybe an increase of faith , maybe he wanted you to dream bigger , or help you become more patient.
So in conclusion let’s keep our eyes on Jesus , live purposeful lives , laugh more, smile more and trust Him and his perfect timing.
It will all make sense one day and your story will inspire others to keep pushing.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. “ Proverbs 3:5-6
