I QUIT!

Do you ever have those days where you just want to quit?

Quit on your dreams, your job, your leadership position, your business, your ministry, your family? Those days where you feel overwhelmed, unsuccessful, unqualified and just want to give up?

Well, I’ve been there many times.

For instance, I usually feel like quitting my job on Mondays, because I don’t feel like leaving my bed after the weekend. (I’m sure I’m not the only one. Loll)

When I was back in college for undergrad I felt like quitting many many times because I was too overwhelmed with all the science courses. (Thank God that’s over)

Also, currently there are some days where I want to give up on basically everything… (Applying for grad school, studying for the GRE, dance ministry, my dreams, budgeting, writing blogs etc)

But in spite of it all, I didn’t/wont quit on any of those.

I haven’t QUIT because I’ve learned that my feelings are not my God.

With God’s help I don’t submit to my emotions that make me feel inadequate nor do I make decisions based on how I feel but I make Holy Spirit led decisions. By his grace, I endure even though I may have doubts along my journey in accomplishing the things he has set before me.

“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.” Galatians 5:16-23

When you are living a purpose filled life and you continue to do the things he has placed in your heart like finishing school, writing a book , opening a business etc you have no idea the amazing things that God can do through you and for you.

20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Ephesians 3:20

For example in that job you prayed for when you were unemployed and that you now can’t stand going to everyday, he can use you to be a light in that environment and bring someone closer to him. Also while you are working there, he’s setting you up to learn skills that will be needed in the next place that he’s taking you after your time in that job is done.

Or if you are in school and don’t give up, God can use you as an example to your community and family showing them that they don’t have to be another statistic and that getting a degree/ being a professional is attainable.

Or maybe that business that God gave you the idea for, if you don’t give up it might be able to bless your community, be a financial gain for you and will eventually grow to a level beyond what you even initially planed for yourself.

Or maybe that blog, YouTube channel or ministry that God placed in your heart to create, if you actually go through with it  and don’t give up you never now how many hearts you will be able to minister to and how many lives will be changed because you did not quit based on how you felt.

Well, I wrote this blog just to encourage you to not give up on the your dreams and on the things that God has placed in your heart. Your purpose and the things God calls you to do are not only for yourself but for it to be a blessing to others and to draw others unto him.

So next time you want to quit ask yourself some questions.

Who is depending on you to do what God has called you to do?Who needs to hear your message, buy your product, or be impacted by your example?Who needs to hear your testimony of overcoming and of not giving up? hmm….

Well, I usually include a testimony of how I’ve overcome or how God came through for me regarding whatever I discussed on the blog ,but I’m still going through the process myself. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to share on how I saw God’s hand move on my situations because I did not give up or abort the process !

SN: Don’t give up!!

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
