Oh Valentines Day..
It’s definitely a day that brings up many different emotions for different people. For some it’s the excitement of looking forward to seeing what their significant other has planned for them. For others it’s a very sad day that they wish wouldn’t exist. For others they are happy because Jesus is there Valentines date, and then there are other who just don’t care! Lol
If you’re one of those people who are excited for Valentines Day or are super content in Jesus being their Valentines Date then good for you! I hope it’s all that you want it to be.
But for the others who are a little sad or discontent , just want to share some words that will hopefully make you feel better.
The most important thing is to not think that there is something wrong with you just because you don’t have a date. I know a lot of girls or guys may start to feel insecure because no one asks you out on dates or no one is checking for you. Trust me I totally understand! But just know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalms 139:14 and that the creator of the universe made you and he makes no mistakes with what he creates. So don’t think that if you were skinnier , or thicker, or had longer hair ,maybe someone would look at you. Don’t get me wrong it’s great to work on yourself but not for reasons of just wanting someone to take you out on dates. Change yourself because that’s what makes YOU happy, change your hair because YOU want to change your hair, lose weight because YOU want to lose weight. Trust me you can make all these changes on yourself for someone to notice you and they won’t notice/care especially if they are not meant for you in the first place. What you actually end up is with a large bill for your new clothes or hair and you’re still sad and very very very single. Womp womp womp…
This reminds me of this one quote I saw a while back that said “ You are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you.” ( Love this quote)
Ahh, trying to make someone notice you/ like you is exhausting. Rest !! aaaaaahhhhh, **Breathe out **
Also, don’t be thirsty ladies and gents ! People can notice when we’re thirsty and its not cute. Lol ***Eye roll*** Don’t be so desperate just to have a date or someone to get gifts from that you end up dating/ being in a relationship that has no purpose. I see way to many people in relationships just so that they can have someone or just because they were lonely. Please don’t be like that !! I would hate to look back on my life and realize I wasted 5 years of my life with someone just because I was “ comfortable” or just wanted someone there.
I just want to encourage you, Trust God to write your love story. Trust God that he will bring you someone who’s perfect for you. Trust that God will bring someone that fits who you are now and whom he has called you to be in the future. Please don’t settle because you’re lonely! God truly desires to blow our minds in every area of our lives.
Ohh, and yes ladies we all desire to be pursued. But guess what ?! There is someone who pursues you daily! And his name is Jesus! He literally died on the cross to have a relationship with you forever. #relationshipgoals or nah ?
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:3
He loves you so much that he gives you the gift of life everyday, he gives you the opportunity to improve yourself each day , like he never gives up on us. His love is truly unconditional and I can’t really wrap my head around it EVER.
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” Psalms 86:10
So yes, I want to encourage you to trust God in every area of your life. There is truly nothing that is too hard for the creator of the heavens and earth. Also want to encourage you to live your life. Stop waiting for something to happen to make you happy. Have God as your foundation and then do things that make you happy. Go out with your friends, travel, pick up a new hobby, go to the gym, volunteer somewhere, go shopping do something!! But just don’t sit around miserable waiting on God to send you somebody. God has commanded us to live an abundant life and a life of Joy.
“ He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.” Ecclesiastes 3:11-14
So yes, stay encouraged and continue to pursue God daily. None of this matters compared to eternity. Love and relationships are just gifts to be enjoyed and not to be idolized, so stay focused ! Everything will happen when its suppose to happen. Trust his timing for everything.
